Chicks are introduced to water on day 5 after hatching. Food consisting of kale or lettuce and apple (all finely chopped) is mixed with a little Emu Chick Feed. The Emu Chick Feed is a granular mesh which includes the right amounts of protein, minerals etc. their growing bodies will need. They are gradually given less and less kale & apple but larger portions of the Chick Feed. By the time they are ready to "go outside" they should no longer need the kale & apple mixture.
